Halfway There!

What a week it has been! Not only did we have our big 20 week appointment, but I had to take my PPR exam and I had field day at school all in the same week! Talk about exhausting!

First things first, our 20 week appointment! We went back to the Perinatologist and I have to say, both Jim and I were a little anxious. I guess we've gotten used to seeing our regular OB and to go back to see the Peri turned anticipation into anxiety. The Peri started the appointmentand we got to see such clear images of the Bumpkin on the big screen tv. Bumpkin was moving around as usual. :) The Peri measured everything and said all was looking dandy. Bumpkin is still measuring a little bit ahead, just as he had from our previous appointments. The bestsurprise of all was that our Peri switched to a 4D real time ultrasound! Jim and I were both speechless! We had talked about getting one of these done at a private place, but decidedagainst it, so we couldn't believe that our Peri just went right on with it. No complaints from us though, we were completely amazed! Seeing the Bumpkin's face was truly amazing and emotional. Just as I'd thought, Bumpkin has Jim's noggin'! We both think the little guy has mynose and Jim's lips....which I can't wait to just kiss! I emailed the pics to our parents and Jim's mom got a little emotional as she looked through them. She said she has pics of when Jim wasborn and that the Bumpkin looks so much like him. Aww! Just makes me melt thinking about it! Here are some of the pics:

Isn't this picture amazing?! You can see Bumpkin's face, butt, thigh, leg, foot, hot dog (haha!) and the umbilical cord. Wow!

He started getting a little shy and kept putting his hands in front of his face...too funny!

Covering his ears..."Shhhhh!" ;)
Still covering his ears..."I said SHHH!"
"Alright, I've had enough...no more pictures please." I just want to kiss this little guy and bite his cheeks!

Oh! Before I forget, I started to feel the Bumpkin move and kick, well it's more like a nudge, a couple of weeks ago! At first I wasn't sure if it was really that, but sure enough, the more it happened, the more I realized it was. He was really nudging me a few night's ago and when Jim put his hand on my belly, Bumpkin gave him a big hello. It was so awesome! Jim was so happy he got to feel it! This makes my heart smile so much! I love feeling him nudge me, just love it! It's hard to believe that I'm now more than halfway through this pregnancy. To me, the first 20 weeks seem to have really gone by slow, however Jim thinks it flew by. I wonder if the next half will feel like it flew by? Everyone says it does. Regardless, we are grateful for each day and thank the Lord for this wonderful miracle!

I took the following day off after our doctor appointment so that I could go ahead and take my PPR exam. Talk about tough...it took me 3.5 hours to finish! I pray and hope I did okay!

We had our field day at school last Friday and why this day isn't in November or early March is beyond me. It was so hot and being pregnant in the hot sun, with 21 kids, going from station to station, is absolutely exhausting. Thankfully, Jim came to help me the entire day. I could not have gotten through field day without him! Speaking of school, there's only 4 days left...woohoo!!! I am so ready and excited for summer vacation to start! I want to just sit on my badunka dunk and not do a darn thing! Jim and I talked about taking a babymoon somewhere, but we literally cannot decide where. I am paranoid about traveling out of the country and I also don't want to fly anywhere that requires a long flight (so I guess Hawaii is out of the question? Ha!). I'd really like to go where there is a nice beach, but laying by the pool and reading a good book sounds just as nice. Hmmm...if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Okay, well that's it for now. As always, thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers...especially me and the Bumpkin! Loves!
